ABout Timber TailorS furniture

Creative — Passionate — Dedicated

Our bespoke furniture is created by us in our North London based workshop and in-house design studio.  We are essentially Designers at heart and we found, in our love of Making, the perfect way to bring our clients ideas to life.

We think that we successfully combine a creative approach with both traditional and cutting-edge wood-working techniques which we have learnt along the way to produce high quality bespoke furniture.

DESIGN STUDIO

London base Timber Tailors Furniture design studio is where we conceptualise all of our client's projects, technically and aesthetically. We work constantly with these two factors in mind and incorporate them into every little detail of the projects we work on. We encourage our clients to be involved in the design process through guiding them with their choices. We dedicate time and effort to translating and communicating their ideas into tangible visual concepts.

On top of the good old pencil and sketchbook technique, we use various design software to help us generate our furniture visuals including Vectorworks, Sketchup Pro, Fusion 360 and Photoshop among others. These various softwares are our design tools helping us to create 3D visuals and detailed CAD drawings that will eventually be used to produce our bespoke furniture.

WORKSHOP

We make our furniture locally in a dedicated fully equipped workshop based in North London. It is organised in such a way to leave us the flexibility to arrange adaptable set-ups according to each bespoke furniture project we create and work on.

Fountayne House, our workshop, is a large 8000 sq ft building separated into different work spaces. There is a large machine room with all the heavy equipment (digital table saws, planer, a thicknesser, spindle-molder, sander, bandsaw, etc), two spray booths and drying room for the finishes and also storage racks for our materials.

Another part of the building is dedicated to bench space and it is here that there are businesses like ours sharing not just the premises but also knowledge and a friendly spirit. This helps a lot, especially when, in the middle of production, one is missing the odd bit or tool that basically will save the day!
